Iluka

Today we have moved on to Iluka, we have stayed here a few times before but didn't have a boat then and really missed being able to get out on the beautiful waterways and have a fish.
We arrived a little before 12pm and set up quite quickly so decided it was time to see if we could assemble the new break down boat trailer we purchased, well we are still married and think we did OK as there were no instructions!

Look out fish, here we come!!

Red Rock and Corindi Beach

We have finally moved on from North Haven after catching up with Joanne, Aunty Mar, Aunty Jean, Katy and Mum. Can't say I can remember a lot as it was a big night!
We arrived at Red Rock around noon, it's about half way between Coffs and Grafton, very pretty little town with nothing but a Bowlo and the caravan park. It's next door to Corindi Beach which has views back to Coffs which you can see in the photo above.

We were made welcome by some locals at Red Rock, they got very friendly!

I guess the middle photo here really explains how the town got named, the red volcanic rock is everywhere, very pretty beaches with clear blue water. A beautiful day today, great weather.

Hunter Gatherer

Mick decided we need some good bait so we went worming on the low tide Saturday afternoon with a good result.

This part of the beach looks back to North Haven on the far right of the picture, the next outcrop is Dunboggan and the one on the far left is Diamond Head, it's a national prk where you can camp and have a fire and share the grounds with Kangaroo's it's a really nice spot to stay and has good fishing.

Day Trippers

Saturday morning and a beautiful day so we decided to expand our horizons and head into Port Macquaurie, it was a nice day for a walk along the breakwall and we were rewarded with dolphins in the channel on the way back.

One perfect day

Monday on a perfect day in paradise, Mick went down to the beach early to catch some fish. Beautiful morning and plenty of fish, 5 bream (2 throwbacks) and 2 salmon.
After this we headed over to Pilot Beach at Dunbogan and enjoyed the quiet and the sun, Mick even got in the water and had a swim, far too cold for me but have put a photo of me on so you know I was there.
This life is too tough!!

Mitilant Oldies

Taking advantage of our location, Mick and I decided we would attend the No Carbon Tax Rally in Port Macquarie, on our way to the village green we ran into Barnaby Joyce and chatted with him which was fun for us, he is a bit hyperactive I think.

The media all have different numbers for attendance but we think the 2,000 mark would be about right. Not many there were in love with their local member Mr Oakshot!!!

Beautiful North Haven

Situated 38k's south of Port Macquarie is North Haven, it is surrounded by water everywhere, great river and pristine beaches. Five minutes to Laurieton and Dunbogan.
North Brother mountain has a lookout with a spectacular view of the area below.
Still a little cold and windy, hope to get some warmer weather soon.
Mick & I did do a 3k walk this morning as he doesn't want me to get too fat now I have given up smoking, day 13 and going OK.

1st Official day on the road

Well we have finally left the Central Coast!
Must say the "rig" looks pretty good when all hitched up.
We are heading to North Haven for a while, we hope to make some kind of plan for the months ahead, but then again we may just wing it!

Hi everyone, I think I have now sorted out how you can post comments, you should all receive a new invitation to be an Author, when you accept this it will let you make comments I hope?

All done all sold!

Well we are officially homeless, the removalists turned up last Thursday to take our posessions to storage. When they arrived we looked at the container and thought it was too small and we were correct, hence we now have a container plus some gear in the storage shed. Not the perfect outcome especially since it rained all day when they packed us up!
Joel has moved into his new digs and is very happy, Mick & I are now at Towoon Bay Holiday Park which is much nicer than we thought. We are yet to explore the area as we have been helping Joel move and sorting out last minute things involved with the move.
We`hope to head off towards the end of next week to somewhere exciting enough to make you all jealous!
Cheers to all
Suellen & Mick
